MVP PK have won the 2018 edition of the eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals following a comprehensive 2-0 victory over NASR.
Fresh off victories over Chiefs and BOOT-d[S], the Emirati team entered the match looking to continue their Cinderella story, but their momentum quickly waned as they hit a brick wall right from the get-go.
MVP's map pick, Nuke, opened up the series, and it was a complete battering. Starting out on the Terrorist side, the Korean side cruised to a 14-0 lead, with the vast majority of those rounds not even being a challenge for Keun-Chul "solo" Kang's men, who ran all over the defence.
Rashid "GreeNz" Al-Nuaimi still gave NASR a slimmer of hope with a trio of kills to prevent the 15-0 half, but MVP PK responded in the second half with two rounds in a row to wrap things up.
MVP PK were far too hot for NASR to handle
Map two, Train, followed the same pattern as the first, with MVP PK dominating the game during the early stages of a 6-0 start. A quad kill from Mohammed "k1tkat" Al-Nuaimi put NASR on the board, but the round was immediately traded back by the Koreans, who remained in the driving seat to close out the half with a commanding 13-2 lead.
NASR then found a lifeline as they picked up the pistol round in convincing fashion, but MVP PK rallied back and hit championship point. With no margin for error, Love "havoK" Paras's side finally woke up and put together a string of rounds, but their resistance finally collapsed in the 26th round.
